Education has been an important focus for the Porter family. Wiregrass Ranch is currently the home of three state-of-the-art facilities. Through partnerships with local businesses and Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, as well as between the high school and college, the goal of Wiregrass Ranch is to provide a truly superior, seamless educational experience for our residents.
Wiregrass Ranch High School
Wiregrass Ranch High is a cutting edge facility providing unmatched educational opportunities to its students. Students can take advantage of the dual enrollment program, a partnership between nearby Pasco Hernando State College and the School District of Pasco County, allowing them to earn credit for college courses that will count towards both high school diploma and college degree requirements. Wiregrass Ranch High engages students in a rigorous academic curriculum while also providing a wide variety of extracurricular and athletic opportunities to enrich student lives.
John Long Middle School
Dr. John Long Middle School was opened and named in memory of former superintendent Dr. John Long in 2007. The school serves grades six through eight and was built to help relieve overcrowding for the area.
The initial sale of the land from Wiregrass Ranch helped to bring both Wiregrass Ranch High School and John Long Middle School quickly to the area! The sale of land is for multiple school sites in addition to these. Wiregrass Ranch has helped to provide school sites for years to come as the growth continues in Wesley Chapel.
